Word Count: 5,000Author's Notes 1: I had to fudge timelines
slightly to make this all fit and even then, it is an exhaustive task trying to write 400 frickin’ years of a character.
Author's Notes 2: Ideas expressed are of the character, not of the author. I was just trying to understand how Adam would want to kill almost everyone in the world and figured that 1) seeing a lot of disgusting things over four centuries would colour your view of humanity and 2) Social Darwinism would probably seem appealing to someone who was aware of a genetic mutation that privileged certain individuals over others. So, this is basically "immortality SUCKS" with a little dash of "humans suck" on the side. Enjoy!
( he discovers that some things are more painful than re-growing your spine: memories of a starving officer sharing his last can of rations, mementos of last words promised to relay to a wife, the silence just before the artillery guns start up or the simple feeling of being genuinely scared for the first time in decades. )
