Also, I agree with what you said earlier, I really like how the show is slowly evolving their friendship from a place of mutual (and perhaps grudging) respect and admiration.

Kahlan may look for what is on the surface of a person, but I think that Cara tries to observe people before dealing with them so she has an advantage by the time they finally turn their attention to her. I bet that she does a lot of peripheral judging.
